Year End FUN Meet (Tier 3, 4, & Regional Groups)

Well, the season is officially over! We held a very successful banquet last night. All the swimmers looked so nice all dressed up in their finest duds! Once again, CONGRATULATIONS to all of the award winners and to ALL DOLPHINS SWIMMERS! You all had an amazing year!

The official final Dolphins event is going to take place next weekend. There is going to be a fun swim meet hosted at our pool. I am encouraging all of the swimmers that are still practicing to attend to officially wrap up the season. Here is the meet information...

Time: 12:00-4:00 PM
Meet Fee: $25.00/swimmer
Meet Entry Deadline: Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Coach Tracy

Volunteer Why?

Before walking off into the sunset, I wanted to discuss the importance of contributing to development of the swim club.
This club has for the last 10 years been a very welcome member of my family. 10 years ago on a night just like last night my daughter Emily won the Landry award and as she picked it up I knew then I was going to have to contribute in some way to the club.
That night, then President Gerry Bioute, was asking - no begging families to help out. The club was 30 strong with a volunteer coach. Believe me when I say this I was not comfortable putting my hand up as I really did not know anyone involved with the club, but I knew that I was going to have to do something.
You see I saw something that night. What is it? I saw the beauty of the sport and what it has to offer the kids.
I saw that there was a club that was going to instill hard work and goal setting for the kid, it was inclusive and kids would win over and over again.
As Emily moved through the club, I started to see the time, energy and commitment that Tracy and the other coaches were putting in. I realized that Tracy would be spending more time with my daughter then I was, and that I could not ask for a more wonderful role model and mentor for my daughter (Thank you again Tracy!).
We are very fortunate to have many "Tracies" in our club. I am sure your children have experienced the positive influence of Lori, Dave, Jennifer, Samantha or Terry in many ways.
You see everyone I really never thought of it as the work but as my responsibility to keep this great forum going and support the people that are making such a wonderful impact in our children’s lives.
So I would ask if people are feeling apprehensive or nervous about volunteering please think of the Club and the way it is contributing to your child’s development. If everyone embraces the work….. great things will continue to happen.
The AGM is up coming and two very critical positions are open. President and Vice President.
Tanya will be a very active Past President and a great resource. I will still be assisting with the meet management for one more year. So the time is right for new people to step forward and help keep things going. As Dave Campbell said last night “ We have something special here”

BANQUET / BALLOT

Hi Everyone, just one final reminder that our banquet will be held on Thursday, June 10th. You must have a ticket to attend so if you were not able to pick yours up, please let me know ASAP to make alternative arrangements.

Also, please remember to submit your volunteer activities to John Bowser no later than Monday so we can tally your ballots for a free registration next year. Please email him at: jbowser@eastlink.ca

Year End Banquet Details!

It is hard to believe our year-end banquet is next week! This is a very special time when our swimmers and families come together to recognize the many achievements of our Dolphin swimmers.

Thursday, June 10th, 2010
Time: 6:00pm team picture at the pool
6:30pm buffet dinner
Place: Redshores at Summerside Raceway
Cost: $5.00 a ticket for Dolphin Swimmers & $15.00 per ticket for family
and friends

Tickets Sales – lobby of Credit Union Place
Wednesday June 2nd from 4:00 to 5:00 pm
Saturday June 5th from 10:00-10:30 am

IMPORTANT DETAILS
· This is our swimmers night to celebrate and they are encouraged
to get dressed up in their “fancy duds”
· Since most Dolphins will be present, we would like to ask you to bring your Dolphin T-shirt to slip on over your clothes so we can get a team picture at the pool at 6:00 pm before heading next door to the buffet.
· Family and friends are welcome – the more the merrier! Please
note: in order to attend the banquet, you must purchase a ticket.
For the new families of our Club, I want to emphasize the importance of this event.

During the banquet, we will be presenting performance feedback, the Club Awards and special Recognition Awards. As well, every swimmer on our team will walk away with a special gift from our Club!
