East Coast Championships this Weekend

Hello Everyone!

Well, only 2 more sleeps until the meet that our swimmers have been training for all year. We have seven swimmers attending the East Coast Short Course Championships as part of Team PEI this weekend in Charlottetown. This meet is the largest meet in Atlantic Canada. The CARI Pool is going to be host to 315 swimmers from all over Atlantic Canada and Ontario! I really want to encourage all of you to take the time to sneak a peek at the meet this weekend. If you are out and about shopping or visiting in Charlottetown, swing by the pool to cheer on our Dolphin swimmers. Below is a list of the swimmers attending and the meet schedule.

Singers Required

Hi Everyone,
Next weekend are the East Coast Short Course Swim Championships(Feb 28 - Mar 2). The planning committee has approached the three island swim clubs looking for a singer(s) to sign O'Canada to kick off the evening sessions. There is three evening sessions and three swim clubs so that means our club needs a volunteer(s). Please email me to let me know if you can help out.

Thanks for a Great Meet!

I would like to thank all parents and master swimmers that volunteered for the swim meet this weekend. The event was a great success and it was do to the effort put forth by all those involved.

Tier 4/Regional Practice Thursday, February 14, 2008

Hello again! Just wanted to let my groups (Tier 4/Regional) know that practice will go at regular scheduled time 6:30-7:45 AM. I just checked Environment Canada and the winter storm warning has been changed to rain fall warning. Travel conditions should be okay in the morning.

Swim Meet This Weekend

Hello Everyone,



Here is the duty roster for the swim meet this weekend. Click on it to enlarge it. The warm up starts at 9am and the races start at 10am. I would like to thank everyone for participating, swim meets take a lot of effort to coordinate and having everyone pitch in really makes a difference.

Angele Arsenault will be our head timer for the meet. Angele is also the official’s coordinator for East Cost Short Course Swim Championships which are held in Charlottetown on Feb. 28 - Mar 2. This is Atlantic Canada’s premier short course competition. Angele will be looking for volunteer officials for this four day event. I would ask everyone that is interested in helping out for this special event to approach me or Angele and let us know what days you would be willing to assist.



Remember officiating is the best seat in the house.

February Fling Swim Meet

Hello Everyone,

As J mentioned in his last post, we are hosting a swim meet on February 16, 2008. This meet is open to 11 & Over swimmers only but we are encouraging the whole team to come out and cheer on the Dolphins Team in our home pool.

Here are the meet details:

Date: February 16, 2008
Eligibility: 11 years and over
Warm-Up: 9:00 AM-10:00 AM
Meet Fees: $20.00/swimmer
Entry Deadline: Monday, February 11, 2008...please let your swimmer's coach know if your
swimmer(s) will be participating in the meet.

February Fling Swim Meet Hosted in Summerside

We have a swim meet coming up on February 16th.

Summerside will be hosting the February Fling for swimmers 11 and over. Swim meets require a lot of participation from the parents and other individuals interested in the sport.The meet starts at 9am and should be over around 1pm.
Below is a list of duties that will have to be filled for the meet. The non timing positions require some previous experience, other then that we need lots of timers and that position does not require experience.
