Hello Everyone,
I have been getting a few questions about the meet this weekend and I just wanted to clarify a few things as this meet is for some, their first ever championship meet. Very exciting....
As I mentioned, this is a championship meet. There are prelims during in the morning sessions and finals (top 8) during the evening sessions. There is expected to be allot of swimmers at the meet so more than likely, we will have a split warm-up. I will let the swimmers know what time they need to be at the pool for each session. Friday morning's session is definitely 9:00 AM warm-up.
There are a few things that I do ask from the swimmers while attending championship meets. During the prelims (morning sessions), as soon as a swimmer is finished their last race, they can leave the pool. They do not have to stay around to wait for the rest of the swimmers to finish. However, for finals (evening sessions), all swimmers have to return to the pool to warm-up with the team and stay until the last Dolphin swimmer is finished. The only exception to this is Sunday's finals session. If your swimmer is not swimming in finals on Sunday, they can leave right after their last swim in the morning.
The last thing that I ask from the swimmers while attending championship meets is that they eat healthy throughout the entire weekend. Absolutely no junk food! Mom and Dad...I need your support on this one! Please assist me and encouraging your swimmer to make healthy choices when going out to eat.
Thanks for your cooperation! See you in Fredericton!
