Hi Parents,

just a reminder that we will be doing our "Cash Draw" for $500 on November 30th. Please drop all your tickets off at the front desk of Credit Union Place no later than Sunday, November 29th. (also, feel free to bring them to the potluck on Sunday)

NB Short Course Champs and NB Development Meet

Hello Everyone,

Below is the information on the upcoming swim meets that are in Moncton. Please note that there are two separate meets going on this weekend at the same pool. Depending on the level of your swimmer ("A" Standard or not), will determine which swim meet your swimmer can attend. Please see below....

Meet #1: NB Short Course Champs
Date: December 11-13, 2009
Location: CEPS Pool, University of Moncton
Eligibility: NB "A" Standards (your swimmer must have one NB "A" Standard)
Warm-Up Times: Friday, Prelims: 8:00 AM, Finals: 4:30 PM
Saturday, Prelims: 8:00 AM, Finals: 4:30 PM
Sunday, Prelims: 8:00 AM, Finals: 4:00 PM
Meet Entry Fees: $46.00 + Dolphins Coaching Fee (TBD)
Entry Deadline: December 1, 2009

Meet Entry Fee: $15.00 + Dolphins Coaching Fee (TBD)
Entry Deadline: November 28, 2009

Dolphins Rocked the House!

As coach Dave says, "Nobody comes into our house and pushes us around!". Our Dolphins stepped up to the blocks this weekend and swam their hearts out! We had a total of 34 swimmers compete at this year's event, the most ever for the Dolphins.

There were many of the Dolphin swimmers that swam 100% personal best times and every single swimmer swam at least one best time, including our senior swimmers.

In the 11-12 age category, our Dolphin swimmers were consistently earning the top spots (both male and females).

We had a few more swimmers achieve their "A" times, and many achieve their "B" times.

The Dolphin Swim Club now has 3 swimmers ranked in the top 50 in Canada in their age group. Those swimmers are:

Molly Wedge: 50 Free (24th)
100 Free (32nd)
50 Fly (32nd)

Evan Tynski: 400 Free (43rd)
50 Breast (45th)

Zach Doiron: 400 Free (40th)
50 Breast (22nd)
100 Breast (47th)
200 Breast (30th)

Congratulations to all Dolphins swimmers! You all swam amazing!

Also, a big thank-you to all the parents that helped out during the meet. We could not have put on such a great meet without all of you! Thank-you!

I am looking for timers, marshallers, people to sell programs and some of the younger swimmers to be runners. Please email as soon as possible with your availability for this weekend. To All Swimmers and Their Families

You are all invited to our Christmas Party on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at the Wilmot Communtity Centre.

We hope that a special guest from the North Pole will attend!!! As we are having a pot luck we would ask that the parents of each Tier bring the following:

Junior Dolphins - Main Dishes or Casseroles
Tier I - Main Dishes or Casseroles
Tier II - Deserts
Tier III - Main Dishes or Salads (pasta, potato, greens)
Tier IV - Finger Foods (veggie tray,cheese 'n crackers, chicken wings)
Regional - We will contact you individually

Hotel Rooms for NB Short Course Champs Meet

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to pass along the information on the hotel rooms for the NB Short Course Champs Meet that is scheduled for December 11-13, 2009. There has been a block of rooms booked for us by a Bluephin parent. Hotel rooms were hard to come by as there are many other events going on it Moncton during that weekend. Here are the details below. Please note the booking date deadline.

Dolphins Clothing

Hello Everyone,

Just a friendly reminder...Cindy Bracegirdle will be at the pool tomorrow from 4:00-6:00 to take Dolphin clothing orders. This will be the LAST opportunity to view the clothing and to place your orders. You don't want your swimmer to miss out! We have some pretty cool pieces of clothing including a new track suit! Stop by the pool tomorrow to check it out!

2009 Fall Splash Invitational

Hello Everyone,

Many of you may have noticed that the meet package for the 2009 Fall Splash has been posted on our website. I just wanted to provide a bit more info on the meet.

This meet is for all swimmers in our Club that are 11 & Over. This is the first opportunity this year for our swimmers to swim heats and finals. We are encouraging EVERY swimmer that is 11 & over to participate in this meet, it is a great swim meet format and we are hosting!!

Here are the details...

Dates: November 20-22, 2009
Location: Our Home Pool
Warm-Up Times: Friday Prelims: 4:30-5:00 PM
Saturday Finals: 8:00-9:00 AM
Saturday Prelims: 4:00-5:00 PM
Sunday Finals: 8:00-9:00 AM
Meet Fees: $38.00/swimmer, payable to SDSC
Entry Deadline: Sunday, November 15, 2009

Please let your swimmer's coach know by the entry deadline if your swimmer(s) will be participating in this meet. Also, meet fees are due on November 16, 2009. Please hand in meet fees to the front desk at CUP.

Remembrance Day Practice Schedule

Please note, there will be regular scheduled practice on November 11, 2009 for all groups EXCEPT for the Regional group. The pool does not open until 9:00 AM so the Regional group will be practicing from 2:30-4:00 PM instead of the early morning workout.

Also, dryland for the Tier 4 and Regional group will begin on November 11, 2009 at 4:00 PM. Please have your swimmer bring appropriate clothing (i.e. shorts, t-shirt and running sneakers).
