April Important Dates

Dolphin Parents:

I hope everyone enjoyed their March Break – this warm weather is a sure sign that Spring is here and we are on the home stretch of our swimming season! The next month is a VERY BUSY one, so I thought I would let you know some important dates / activities that are coming up:

April 3rd 9:00 – 5:00 Grocery Bagging
Our final grocery bagging will be held on April 3rd. A schedule will be posted shortly. If your swimmer cannot attend, please let us know.

April 8th 6:00 – 8:00 pm– Officials Training
The SDSC will be hosting officials training for parents wanting to learn about timing and / or stroke and turn officiating. Our club is hosting two meets in April and will need ALL parents to volunteer to make them happen. This is a great way to learn more about your child’s sport. There is no cost to this training. Can you please let me know if you plan on attending at 436-5794 or tmtynski@pei.sympatico.ca

April 10th – Development Meet - SDSC
The SDSC is hosting this development meet. It is a short one day meet and all swimmers are encouraged to attend. The cost will be $25 and coaches will be confirming swimmer attendance prior to the meet. Please let me know if you can volunteer by contacting me at 436-5794 or tmtynski@pei.sympatico.ca or Eva Strongman at patikate@eastlink.ca

April 17-18th – Under 10 Festival – Fredericton
This meet is the main off Island meet for our under 10 swimmers. The SDSC and Charlottetown Bluefins hope to have a combined training session late day on the 17th. The actual meet will be held on the 18th. More information will be posted shortly.

April 30 – May 2nd Garden of the Gulf
The SDSC will be hosting the 11 and over provincial championships – Garden of the Gulf. The format will be heats and finals for 11 and over swimmers between Friday and Sunday. The 10 and under provincial meet will occur on Sunday May 2nd starting around noon. WE NEED ALL FAMILIES TO VOLUNTEER – this is a very big meet and is a special competition for all our swimmers. Please contact myself or Eva with your availability: tmtynski@pei.sympatico.ca or Eva at patikate@eastlink.ca

WOW! That is a busy month! Go Dolphins Go!
