Hello Parents & Swimmers,
The most exciting swim meet of the year is coming up next weekend. For those new parents and swimmers out there, the Garden of the Gulf Provincial Championships is always the most fun and exciting meet. This year we have the honors of hosting the event so we get show Summerside how much talent there is in our Club!
As you will note in the meet details below, the 10 & Under swimmers will only be swimming on the Sunday, May 2, 2010. A special meet package has been designed just for them. They aren't going to swim with the 11 & Overs but we are encouraging them to stop by the pool throughout the weekend to cheer our team on!
Here are the details for the meets...
11 & Over Provincials
Date: April 30-May 2, 2010
Eligibility: Any swimmer that is 11 & Over and has competed in one swim meet this year.
Warm-Up Times: Friday Prelims: 4:00-4:40 PM
Saturday AM Finals: 8:00-8:40 AM
Saturday PM Prelims: 4:00-4:40 PM
Sunday AM Finals: 8:00-8:40 AM
Meet Fees: $50.00/swimmer
Meet Entry Deadline: Monday, April 26, 2010 (this is a firm date, no late entries will be accepted)
10 & Under Provincials
Date: Sunday, May 2, 2010
Eligibility: Any swimmer that is 10 & Under and has competed in one swim meet this year.
Warm-Up: 12:30-1:00 PM
Meet Fees: $25.00/swimmer
Meet Entry Deadline: Monday, April 26, 2010 (this is a firm date, no late entries will be accepted)
Please let your swimmer's coach know by the entry deadline.
Following the 10 & Under Meet on the Sunday, Swim PEI is going to be holding their Annual Awards Banquet in one of the conference rooms at Credit Union Place. This is scheduled to begin around 4:00 PM. We are encouraging every swimmer and parent to attend this event as many of our Dolphin swimmers and volunteers could be receiving awards.
