Congrats to Jennifer, Chalene, Lori (and Natasha) - your swimmers have progressed so much in such a short time - can't wait for 2012.
A special Thank You to our T4 and Regional group who stayed to clean up after the meet - you are great!!!
I want to also wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
GO DOLPHINS !!!

REMEMBER - You are never given a wish without also been given the power to make it come true....you may however have to work for it.

Split Team Fun Meet Details!

Hey Dolphins,

The first split team fun meet will be held this Saturday - ALL Dolphins are asked to attend (Jr. D - Regional) Here are the details:
When: Saturday 8:30 - 11:15
Where: CUP
What: LOTS OF FUN. There will be cheering, racing, splashing and and lots of TEAM SPIRIT. At 10:45, swimmers will be provided pancakes and hot chocolate.

Swimmers are asked to bring a non perishable food item to the meet and in return they will receive a ballot to win a speedo bag with some swimming goodies. The more food, the more ballots - let's show Summerside our SDSC spirit!

Finally, parents are reminded to stay and have a coffee. We will be providing a brief overview of some officiated duties on the deck during some races to help new parents gain comfort in timing and becoming involved in meets.

Yours in swimming,

Fun Split Team Meet

We are hosting a Split Team Fun Meet this Saturday morning, December 17th. Coach Dave will be sharing more of the fun details with us later!

We wanted to take this opportunity for the parents to also have some fun, learn a little about the volunteer requirements our club has for every swim meet we host and give parents a chance to win a free membership for next season!

For each swim meet we host, we require almost 40 volunteers per session. The Fall Splash, which we hosted in mid-November, included 4 sessions and required 160 volunteers! ( as a reference point, our club has about 140 parents) Our swimmers put up some great times and had a lot of fun and our club made over $4000! This could not happen with our parent volunteers.

Our club has a large number of new swimmers this year, which also means we have a large number of parents whom may be new to the sport.

With this in mind we are requesting all “veteran” swimming parents join the new parents on deck during the Split Team Fun Meet this Saturday morning, December 17th to explain some of the volunteer roles required for the swim meet. We will demonstrate the roles of timers, stroke & turn, starter, hospitability and meet manager.

All parents, Please email Chris at chris@palmers.ca before Thursday at 5pm so we have an idea of the parent attending. We would really like to see everyone contribute to help make our club stronger for our kids.

We have also sent by email the Family Volunteer ballot sheet so you will get a better understanding of how you can win a free membership for next season.

As a bonus, all volunteers that participate in this Split Team Fun Meet and our next home meet (Feb18th) will receive double ballots!
